Pulaski is a Giles County seat laid out around downtown on the north side of Richland Creek, with that creek flowing south toward the Elk River. For residential teams, the practical map starts with U.S. 31 coming through the center of town as First Street, then U.S. 31 Alternate leaving from the north side on East Grigsby Street toward Lewisburg. After the war, the first Ku Klux Klan chapter was founded in Pulaski in late 1865, followed by the Pulaski riot in the winter of 1868. University of Tennessee Southern traces back to Martin Methodist College, founded in Pulaski in 1870, and TCAT-Pulaski also anchors local education. Just outside the city’s routine, the Diana Singing near Cornersville brings people to the area every June and September.
